Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The general goal of this study was to design, develop, deliver and evaluate a Leading Change Workshop incorporating instructional design methods based on cognitive psychology for Chinese employees and managers. Traditional instructional design based on behavorism can't address high-order thinking or problem-solving skills. There is evidence to show that transfer has failed in many training programs. Instructional design based on cognitivism can yield far transfer. Constructivism based instructional design helps establish a constructive learning environment, in which learners are motivated to learn actively and cooperatively. The findings showled that the workshop using instructional design methods based on cognitive psychology had a high positive impact on the participants' achievements and near transfer of learning. The participants demonstrated learning improvement both in attitudes and future behaviors towards organizational change.
