Jamey Ellis is an intelligent young boy who toes the line every day of his life. His lifelong goal is freedom. He looks forward to his thirteenth birthday, Centennial Day celebration and the summer holidays. His life spins out of control when teenage rebels slander the good name of a friend who has the mental capacity of a child. He instantly retaliates without thinking about the consequences of his action. Jamey adds to the crisis when he innocently speaks out of turn and reveals a secret that has the power to ruin and disrupt the lives of others. The incidents fuel a fire of rage and he is the target.
