Even in the early 20th Century, much of Central Florida was orange groves and open grazing land for cattle. Small communities formed along the shores of the St Johns River and the railroad lines that carried these goods to market in the north. A baby girl was born in 1902 in the town of Geneva, and the experiences of the first ten years of her life are related here in the stories she told at age 78 to her granddaughter.
