The Stay At Home Husband

The Stay-At-Home Husband is a satirical depiction of the contemporary and deepening phenomenon of a new crop of the now unemployed fathers who are staying at home while their wives go to work. Some of the stay-at-home husbands, in many parts of the world now, are alone with the kids after their wives migrated for work in greener pastures to fend for the families, due to either the poor state of their home economies, wars, natural disasters or just to look for a better future for their family members. Many African professionals have lost their jobs as many companies in their countries have either scaled down business or actually closed shop in the global village phenomenon or climate change induced de-industrialization processes affecting many countries now. it is funny to note that, the more resilient and better adaptable wives are generally employed or survive on selling various products and services on the informal market. The husbands have found themselves without their jobs and have an unpalatable role reversal phenomenon, with very little to do but to stay at home with the kids. Some of the husbands are highly skilled and educated technocrats and suffering various levels of pain, trauma and psychological and stress induced illnesses and conditions.
