Of Being Divisible consists of 250 poems, which each consist of 5 stanzas, which each consist of 5 lines, which each consist of 5 words for a total of 31,250 words. These poems are thus haifuns, poems with the same number of words in each line, lines in each stanza, and stanzas on each page. The base text of this poem (approximately 37%) was created by reading George Oppen’s Of Being Numerous to my computer and letting its imperfect speech recognition software make mistakes.
