Gavin

ByFred Asquith

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Gavin is a boy infected and poisoned with mediocrity. He usually embraces his social invisibility, but recently he has wanted to break out of his shell and show the world he can do other things than just play computer games. That’s not to say he lacks confidence in himself; despite the fact he can sometimes be self-disparaging about the social position he straddles, he also has the assurance to enforce his rights if need be. The story tracks Gavin through a sort of enlightening period where he sort of tries for ‘the girl’ and sort of gets her. But who is the girl - Shelley or Claire? Shelley, his best friend Dave’s girlfriend, isn’t exactly his type but, to put it frankly, seems ‘up for it’, while Claire, the new girl, is right up Gavin’s street but so much so that it’s a stale mate – both are too similarly reserved to go out and get one another! So who to go for? - Shelley, with the risk of hurting his best friend, or Claire, with the large risk of failure?
