Regional Imbalance and Uneven Development in Uganda
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The book is an attempt to discuss the issues of uneven development and its regional dimensions has brought forward ethnic conflict, poverty, political rivalries, resource conflict, and wars in Uganda. It is behind this background that the study using various methods tried to examine the course of political, social and economic trends of events in Uganda. Having examined the root causes of regional inequalities and imbalance in political, economic and social developments, this study suggests a number of policy reforms to correct the problems of regional imbalance and uneven development in Uganda. Unless there are drastic changes in policies, the problems of uneven development will continue to be a source of conflict between northern and southern Uganda. However, this book can serve as one of the policy guidelines, towards an alternative development strategy in Uganda. Finally,I wish to thank Dr Peter Van Dungen, University of Bradford, whose comments made it possible for me to complete this study.
