This fictional Valentine's Day story is set at the time of the “War to end all wars,” as World War I was known at the time. It is the story of a young woman from a small town and her great love, her soldier who went off to serve his country in far-away France. It is a story of love, loss, grief, falling away from the faith of her youth, and her eventual return to faith, fellowship, and to the love of her life. The story centers around a small treasure, a tiny carving made from the stone from a beautiful peach, given in love, and fashioned into a remembrance which transcended the years.
