The Basic Book of Amateur Radio
A Resource for Passing the Amateur Radio Basic Certification Exam
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Why publish a book on Canadian Amateur Radio Basic Certification? I’ve been teaching this material for 10 years. As a result, my teaching informs the content of this book. Likewise, this is the book I use for teaching. Thus, the book and the teaching pedagogy are reflections of each other. In my opinion, this is the book satisfying the candidate’s need for a relevant rigirous resource for preparing to sit the ISED Certification Exam.
The objectives are clarity, completness and conciseness. All of the questions in the ISED question bank are covered in multiple ways because this book is written in a layered style.
You always have the option of going deeper into the material. At the end of each question there is the answer statement which maps to other parts of the book.
After the questions section we begin the layered explanation. At the first level is the work behind the answers. Within this section there are remarks indicated by the letter R in a circle which point to an Additional Information chapter. Thus, these remarks point to a part of the book where equations and concepts are further developed. These equations and concepts are often needed to do the work leading to the correct answer.
Another feature of this book is a thorough compilation of internet links. You will find this information under “links” in the index at the end of the book. These links point to the relevant page in the text where the link is expressed.
