The Face of the Moon

The Face of the Moon

ByG M Lincoln

Possessing a dreadful secret, young Jack Brown thinks that release from the orphanage will give him a chance for a new life. He arrives at Moon Valley as a ward of its owner, Mr Frobisher. Georgie, Mr Frobisher’s granddaughter captivates him and becomes a faithful friend, as does Molly, the only girl in his form at school. But tragedy strikes, and bullied by Georgie’s brother Hugh, Jack runs away. He finds his mother’s family but is rejected, so makes his way to South Canterbury where he finds work on a sheep farm. After some amazing adventures tragedy strikes again, and this time Jack’s life hangs in the balance. This is a story of life in New Zealand during the Great Depression of the 1930’s.
