INTRODUCTION This little book is the story of my family’s fight for survival, a story repeated millions of times in Jewish history. Rather than victims, I want to start by saying we are here, while the Nazi Fascist Reich is not. There are only a few of us left to tell the story; but that evil was reduced to dishonor and humiliation, while we celebrate our existence. This book is dedicated to the millions who perished in WWll, and the courageous warriors who fought the good fight. My brother, Joseph Reichman, said the courageous ones didn’t make it. Those brave ones died saving others. They were fallen heroes in the fight against monsters. The lucky ones lived by sheer chance.
