Roaming Type

The content of this book is made up of 10 different Wikipedia entries. The book opens with Wikipedia’s typography entry and then follows different topics based on the article’s links. Each entry was chosen based on what sparked my interest and followed no underlying theme or idea (If a theme or idea is found, dear reader, it is purely by coincidence and your brilliant mind making connections). These entries are not written in a different language, but rather purposefully made illegible with the exception of some words. The paragraph styles and character styles were designed to look like a made up language or alphabet. Different size ellipses, straight hash patterns, and dashed lines were layered over the headings, body paragraphs, and lists. Letterforms were exaggeratedly skewed and distorted and tracking and leading were drastically lowered or increased. The only text style that was left legible were the links, to allow the reader to decipher each entry based on the related topics made visible. The cover emphasizes the shapes of the inside content with the addition of the radiating outlined ellipses and soft white glows.
