Black Citizen was born out of a desire to attain justice and equality for Black people living in the Bay Area.
We are a social impact startup whose mission is to uplift and invest in the next generation of Changemakers building power in their local community.
We resource community-led initiatives and small non-profit organizations that empower Black lives by harnessing the energy and urgency of today’s social justice movements to create, scale, and sustain social and economic power to advance Black lives in Bay Area communities.
This book is a testament to a pivotal moment in time. We gathered five Black Citizen Changemakers - Bay Area community organizers who work to transform their local communities. Their stories, along with vivid local photography, will illuminate the power of activism, community organizing, wealth building, and the preservation of Black life.
