Our Forever Home tells the story of one couple’s quest to design and build their accessible and sustainable dream home in Portola Valley, California. Iris Harrell and Ann Benson who founded Harrell Remodeling, have remodeled hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms, and entire homes for other people over their 25 years in business. This time the remodel is for their own home. Their home is not only beautiful, it operates as a high-performance system incorporating solar panels, foam insulation, recycled fixtures and doors, low toxicity finishes, carefully regulated use of water, and the integration of universal design into every space.
