This translation of Georg Hacker's 1936 original text tells at first hand the story of the earlier Zeppelin airships, up to and including the LZ 6. Operating from a floating shed on Lake Constance, the Men of Manzell faced innumerable challenges in designing and developing a viable rigid airship. Georg joined Count Zeppelin's team from the Imperial German Navy in 1907, and flew as pilot and navigator on virtually all of those early pioneering flights
