This book is a transcription and index of the 1860 Wilkes County, NC, census. It includes the standard population census as well as the mortality schedule which lists those who had died in the previous twelve months. George and Joyce McNeil transcribed several microfilm records in the 1990s, created full name indexes, and offered these books for sale for genealogy research. The Wilkes Heritage Museum is proud to be the caretaker of their collection of books and research. Book sales support the museum as a nonprofit organization.
