<p>George Washington Burnap was born in Merrimack, New Hampshire on November 30, 1802. He graduated from Harvard in 1824, and in 1828 he was ordained pastor of the First Congregational church of Baltimore, Maryland. He died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1859.</p>
