You surely know the "good manners".
But where do they come from? The bourgeoisie of the nineteenth century. And with one goal: to codify relations between people "of the same world", theirs. So rules not at all inclusive, but exclusive. A kind of code between initiates from the same club... And it becomes a reference for everyone.
There are other rules of "savoir-vivre", much more inclusive, understanding and human. Obvious rules for living well together, without rejecting or despising.
These rules, of the nobility have a much older past, and are in no way orders. One can ignore them, without being mocked or excluded from the group.
All the publications that touch on, from near or far, "good manners", "savoir-vivre", rehash ad nauseam the same thing: the list of obligations and prohibitions, without explaining.
While the uses of Nobility are inherently inclusive, very few people know them. It’s time to share them, right?
680 rules, written and illustrated by an authentic count of France, this book is the collection of all these rules taught in his early childhood. He also had to search libraries, old textbooks to find as much as possible the explanations for each.
So, here is a little guide unique in its kind, which speaks of the usages of the nobility, not those dictated by the bourgeoisie of the nineteenth century.
A different, authentic, cultured, curious and open-minded view of these uses.
About the author
Gil de Bizemont, count by chance of his birth (no superiority, of course), received an education from large royal families and European princes.
Rather bad student but creative artist, he began writing children’s books at age 9, occasionally attending school between promotions on television and writing the next book.
Followed by artistic studies, then architectural (in Italy), to finally establish themselves as a designer and creator.
Every day, out of his mind, from his hands, drawings, objects, books, jewelry, graphics, photographs, web interfaces, all areas interest him.
Until the day when, meeting people ill-mannered at a dinner, he thought it was time to group these uses of nobility in a guide to make known these ancient rules.
