The objective of this book is to design and construct an
electrical/electronic equipment, a thyristor controlled automatic battery
charger, that will supply electrical energy (charges) to a charge storage
device; a battery, in a process to restore the battery's used up energy,
(automatic in that it should posses a self preventive measure against battery
destruction that may be caused by an overcharge). The batteries of concern
are secondary batteries and are so called because they are rechargeable. The
other types are the primary (or dry cell) batteries which are by design nonrechargeable
and so are not considered/discussed in this book.
