Iya Ni Wura Iyebiye (Mother is a Priceless Jewel) glorifies the worth of mothers to children among the Yoruba people of southwest Nigeria. Sasa Kroma is a Ghanaian traditional song about a flying bird. Olurombi is based upon a popular folk song from the Yoruba of Nigeria. The theme of Variations on Ise Oluwa (Work of the Lord) is a popular Christian song from Nigeria. Nkosi Sikele’i Africa (Prayer for Africa) is a Zulu song from South Africa. Uqongqot’hwane is one of the popular children’s songs from the Bantu people of South Africa. Omo Oba Sokoto (The Prince of Sokoto) is built on a Yoruba folk song about a prince from a northern state in Nigeria called Sokoto. Badagry is a derivation of a traditional song from Lagos, Nigeria. The Nigerian Wedding Dance is borrowed from a Yoruba wedding song.
