We can only fully understand the work of La Celestina if we know the bibliography of the Lucena sons and his father the protonotary and ambasador Juan Ramírez de Lucena. And I dare say the same about the history of chess and the new game of draughts. With this latest study I hope to have cleared up: (1) that the authentic names of Lucena are Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo and Fernando de Rojas, two of the illegitimate sons of Juan Ramírez de Lucena, (2) that Fernández de Oviedo wrote Repetición de amores and Fernando de Rojas Arte de Ajedrez, (3) that Fernández de Oviedo is not the author of the foreword and the first act of La Celestina. Fernando de Rojas is. (4) that Fernández de Oviedo is the author of the ancient text of the draughts book Marro de Punta published by Juan de Timoneda in 1547, (5) that Fernández de Oviedo and Fernando de Rojas constantly used pseudonyms for most of their published books, most of which I try to decipher in other volumes.
