Haunted by the Ghost of You

You have no idea what I have been through to be where I am today. No one knows everything I have been through. No one knows how many battles I have had to face to be where I am. No one knows what I have had to do to recover. I have people tell me all the time… “you are so lucky.” I am not lucky. People are not lucky for winning a battle. I have so many stories to tell. So many stories I have won. I am here today, and that is what matters. I am healing myself, and that is what matters. The people who hurt me, are no longer in my life, and that is what matters. I seek professional help, and I am proud of it. I take medications, and I am proud of it. I use a service dog, and I am proud of it. But, why do I need all these things? Well, I am about to tell you.
