Most all of my poems have four lines to a Stanza, with the second and forth lines rhyming, the Quatrain form of poetry. Many in this my second book of poetry follow this rhyming scheme; however, several poems branch into other forms of poetry, e.g. when I decided to write a poem about my old ukulele, I discovered that a long poem which is a tribute to something is called an Ode. That led me to research what constitutes an Ode. It appeared that there are as many types or forms of Odes as there are poets writing Odes. At first I tried to follow a very strict definition of the lines per Stanza, iambic pentameters per line, and rhyming scheme. After many rewrites, it finally dawned on me that it won’t sound right unless I write in a style that pleases me. That is the only Ode in this book; however, you will discover there are a variety of other different rhythm and rhyming schemes in this book. You will find it an enjoyable read.
