Reed Crandall is best known for his adventure comics (Blackhawk) and superheroes (The Ray, Doll Man), and was a key artist in the EC Horror line – but his talents bridged genres and styles. In 1960 Crandall began a long-running relationship with the Catholic publication TREASURE CHEST, and for over 12 years he penned countless stories and covers. Gwandanaland / Midcentury Comics has gathered his earliest work for that comics, 1960-1963, onto one great collection. This book includes two serial features, the famous “This Godless Communism” and the exciting “The Mystery of Shady Falls.” This book gives Crandall fans the familiar lines of his unique talent, but also a new twist on his style.
