Chub, Cork, Jink, Loop and The Old One started as a newspaper strip, as did many popular comics of the late Golden Age and beyond. It didn't take long before THE LITTLE PEOPLE moved into the Dell Four Color series, where they would enjoy ten whimsical issues. Their generally innocent antics were offered in complex and details cartoons, truly excellent examples of 1950s comic book art. Unlike many other newspaper-born comics, the stories in these issues were written specifically for the comic book, not reprints of strips. Although it is known as WALT SCOTT'S THE LITTLE PEOPLE, an acknowledgment to his creation, the illustrator for #809, 868 and 908 is Dan Gormley, with Walter Scott himself doing the the Christmas issues #959 & #1062. This is some of the best humor comic book art of the day, or any day!
