LIFE & TIMES OF AN 82 YEAR OLD CURMUDGEON
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
September 17, 1924, at 3:30 p.m., I entered this world in a small home in Huron, Beadle County, South Dakota. I was delivered by a mid-wife, Rose Cotton. Rose once told me that I emerged just like the times - "Roaring!" So begins the Memoirs of H.Scott Woodward. Born during the Prohibition era, he tells of how his generation survived the major catastrophes of a stock market collapse, severe drought, a banking system shutdown and a major world war. He discusses the people that made the greatest impact on his life: his wife, Joan (McGrath) Woodward, his father, George C. Woodward, and an "old maid" school teacher, Catherine McKay.
