Hans W. Tews of Orlando, Florida, wrote this autobiography of his early life especially so that his family would know how he and his parents survived World War II under very difficult circumstances and started a new life in America.
“I wanted them to know the Holocaust was real and that it affected not only Jews but anyone who would not pledge loyalty to the Third Reich or in any way criticized the regime,” Hans writes in the Foreword. “I also wanted to witness about the many miracles of God in my life.”
Hans’ memories illustrate how his early experiences shaped his faith and his work ethic. His experiences also shaped his desire to use his God-given talents both to advance in his profession and to give back to his adopted country through service – in the military, to his church, and to the local nonprofit organizations he continues to serve as chairman, officer, or board member.
