When the elves at Santa's workshop got Anna-Lena's nasty letter to Santa they decided to get even with her and rid themselves of a nasty Swedish troll, Kalle and sent him to her for Christmas tied up in a jack-in-the box. Trolls are the dark side of the human condition and Kalle caused nothing but trouble until the family found a solution that satisfied everyone. Other stories in this collection include two about Christmas trees, one about parcels from Germany, and new versions of old fairy tales. Each of the author's three daughters has her own story: Belinda's glasses and Cynthia's doll Suzy.
