This edition covers U S Patents issued to Rockford, Illinois inventors during the years 1881 through 1889. The patent images, in numerical order, are shown with patent number, description, year and inventor name. Included are clippings containing information about some of the people involved. There are over 300 patent images and an index with 270 items. Some of the more prolific inventors are; Barnes, Briggs, Cormack, Emerson, Jones, Knowlton, MacPhail, Manny, Palmer and Shaffer. It is interesting to see the continuous invention of improvements during this decade. My previous four editions covered the years from 1844 to 1880 and 1890 to 1910.
