A look at these patent documents will remind you that not all of the early innovations in equipment came from people in large industrial cities but also those in small villages and townships. This publication contains over 150 patents issued to people of Winnebago County, Ilinois who were living outside the city of Rockford, during the years 1844–1910. They were in; Argyle, Durand, Harrison, New Milford, Pecatonica, Rockton, Roscoe, Shirland and Winnebago. I began this project, the planning to include all patents issued to those living in Winnebago County, Illinois during the years of 1890 through 1900.
