The Bailie Family Chronicles - Book One

We all have stories and anecdotes we’d like to pass on to our family. This book is the first of what I hope will be many that will chronicle the adventures and history of the Bailie family. Part I lays out the Bailie Family Tree starting with the family of Hugh Bailie (1870 – 1958) and Mary Hastings (1878 – 1944) who lived in Ballyhalbert, Northern Ireland. Part II, written by Harvey Bailie for his grandchildren, chronicles Harvey’s adventures as a child growing up in the 1930’s in rural Southwestern Ontario. In Part III, Ruth Bailie contributed a family profile which includes remembrances from her childhood and teen years, recollections of her experiences teaching in a one-room schoolhouse. Rounding out this first installment of the Bailie Family Chronicles is a poem authored by Nancy Kraemer in celebration of Harvey and Ruth’s 50th wedding anniversary.
