Why I Wrote the Book
The inspiration to write From Allowance to Abundance: Teaching Teens Legitimate Ways to Earn came from a deep conviction that our youth need practical tools and biblical wisdom to navigate the financial challenges of life. We live in a world where materialism and instant gratification are glorified, and yet so many young people lack a foundational understanding of money—what it means, how to earn it ethically, and how to manage it responsibly.
As a parent, mentor, and pastor, I have witnessed firsthand how financial struggles can either strengthen or strain individuals and families. I have seen young people make poor financial choices out of ignorance, leading to cycles of debt, frustration, and missed opportunities. On the other hand, I have also seen the incredible power of financial discipline and generosity to transform lives, open doors, and create legacies of impact.
The Bible is filled with timeless principles on stewardship, diligence, and generosity. Verses like “The borrower is slave to the lender” (Proverbs 22:7) and “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5) remind us that money is not just a practical matter but also a spiritual one. God calls us to use our resources wisely, not just for our benefit but for His glory and the good of others.

I believe that teens are capable of more than we often give them credit for. They can earn, save, invest, and give in ways that honor God and prepare them for a life of purpose. This book is a roadmap for them to understand the value of hard work, the importance of ethical earning, and the joy of giving back.
3. To Encourage Biblical Stewardship
At its core, this book is about stewardship—recognizing that everything we have belongs to God and managing it according to His principles. Whether it’s through budgeting, saving, investing, or giving, I want readers to see money as a tool for advancing God’s kingdom and blessing others.
In writing this book, I reflected on my own journey with finances—the mistakes I made, the lessons I learned, and the principles that have guid
