Egyptian ceramic art : typical examples of the art of the Egyptian potter (1900)

WHEN preparing for publication a previous series of Plates of Egyptian ceramic art the Collection of the Rev. William MacGregor I pointed out that the history of the art could not be written until its examples in the great national museums had received adequate illustration. In issuing the present series I venture again to urge the importance of such publication the reason being, that a classification of the pottery can only be accomplished by the comparison of the known specimens of the art.
