Prioleau Family Highs and Lows

This booklet illustrates the highs and lows of the Charleston Prioleau family since about the year 1000. The family was reduced to near-poverty three different times resulting from a marriage to a Venetian outsider, the purge of Huguenots in France, and the American Civil War. Rebuilding from relative obscurity in Venice, France, and Charleston, SC, various family members managed to recover and increase family standing considerably.
