Tiger Head - The Story of the 26th Indian Division
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The 26th Indian Division was raised in the Hooghly Delta area of what is now Bangladesh. This inspired the design of their flash: a Royal Bengal tiger stepping out of a delta (as in the Greek letter Δ). The Division went into action at the end of the First Arakan and helped to stabilise a deteriorating situation. It was subsequently involved in the critical 'Admin Box' battle before taking to the water to carry out a series of amphibious operations on the Fourteenth Army's right flank, culminating in the landing at Rangoon. 'Out of the delta' in thought and deed.
