The Womans Journal and Suffrage news is part of the Woman's Journal which started in 1870. In 1912 the additional title of the "Suffrage News" was introduced although many aspects of Suffrage and Women's rights were already an established part of the previous journals. This album contains 6 months of publications from the year 1912. The Journals are in micro form with black and white text and have also be digitally enhanced to increase viewing capability.
The Womans Journal was purchased in 1917 by Carrie Champman Catt's Leslie Woman Suffrage commission for $50,000. It was then merged with the Official journal of the Woman's Suffrage Party of New York 'The Woman Voter' along with NAWSA's National Suffrage news to become titled as "The Woman's Citizen".
