I Haven't the Time: Tales of a Woke Wayfarer
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This compilation of reflections, questions, and concerns about the world around us emanates from my own perspective as a woke wayfarer---an itinerant scribbler journeying through a world of incredible wonder, but a world of systemic injustices and prejudices, as well. Still and all, despite the accumulation of so many yesterdays, I still look forward eagerly to every tomorrow. You might find some of the subjects I write about humourous, others whimsical, a few regretful---some, perhaps, even curmudgeonly. But in every case, you will have the opportunity to compare my take on things to your own perspectives and viewpoints. Most of the tales are in prose form, short essays on subjects that have caught my attention. Others are set forth as poetry---both traditional, rhyming verse and seventeen-syllable haiku---poetic forms I greatly enjoy playing with. A few of these tales have previously appeared in my online blog, TallandTrueTales: Hot Air, Flights of Fancy, and Roads Not Taken. If you enjoy this book, you will undoubtedly enjoy dipping into the blog at www.tallandtruetales.blog. As in my previous collections of tales, I make no claim to profound wisdom or insight. But the tales do truthfully reflect my interest in the people, places, and situations I have encountered as an aging wayfarer, wending my path through the imperfect world we live in. Fortunately, that path winds ever on and on.
