A nameless woman, trained as one of the feared Euvuri, has been assigned to assassinate a wandering prophet stirring up political unrest in Junturas, the Kingdom of Tyrants. After she finds the prophet and kills him, she will finally be freed of her debt to The Circle, the cult of organized killers that trained and raised her. She will have the opportunity to forge whatever identity she wishes and begin living, perhaps for the first time. Resentful of her enslavement to The Circle and desperate for the impossibility of a life --or death-- of her own making, she struggles with the decision to pay off her last debt in innocent blood or throw away years of trying to work out from under this debt to freedom.
