Metaphysics pervades the sentient world. Almost no-one knows what the word means and philosophers find it “hard to define.” In 1936, A. J. Collingwood suggested another definition for the word: “absolute presuppositions.” This is of course simply beliefs and prejudices. The book exposes the many ways this concept infects our lives and generates physical impossibilites in the minds and ideas of scientists
