The Speech of the Chimera is a little idea which slowly became a book. Within it's pages, the poems curate a wondrous collection of pictures. 2 years in the making, The Speech Of The Chimera is a collaborative effort between Jack, the poet and project organiser, and a diverse collection of visual artists, who were given his poems to interpret in their own unique, wonderful styles.
The text is unconventional; sometimes witty, light and humorous, other times sickeningly bleak and brooding. With a style that meanders from paradoxical koans to childish rhyme, and many things in between, there is something in the text for every reader.
The images are equally varied; ranging from vibrant and open watercolours, to harsh posterised images. Things suffering in shadowy rooms.
True fans of outsider and experimental art are advised to explore the book for themselves. All proceeds from the book go to the charity, Cancer Research UK, so when you buy you know you are supporting many good causes indeed.
