SON OF A STRIPPER is a true story about a ten year old boy who spends a summer on the road with his Mother on a burlesque circuit in the 1970's. John is a boy who goes to a military school in Tennessee. Told through the eyes of John, the film follows him over the summer with Star, a burlesque dancer, as they travel across the country on her burlesque circuit, beginning in Kansas City, with travels through Chicago, Canton, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Through these travels, John experiences with his little sister Missy the burlesque environment; being backstage with the dancers during the shows; living in cheap motel rooms; seeing adult films, burlesque shows, nudity and pornography while being surrounded by the adult entertainment industry; and at the same time, seeing national landmarks and educational sites around the country, constantly being educated nationwide. SON OF A STRIPPER is based off the real-life story from the childhood of award-winning filmmaker/writer/director JACK TRUMAN.
