The Embedded Village: an analysis of a Samoan village and it's landscape context

Landscape architectural mapping, interpretation and analysis are used to investigate a rural catchment under pressure in Samoa. The village of Manase, the focus of this study, is currently operating several successful family-based tourist resorts. On the surface, the village and its associated resorts appear to be operating with a fairly high degree of social and environmental sustainability.
