As she walks down Tinker Street in Woodstock, New York Julia stops short. In the florist’s window a plant with tiny round leaves captures her attention. “Baby Tears – native of Corsica”. In a flash she crosses over Ocean and Sea and is catapulted in the outburst of summer in Corsica. The slow summer of her 14th year, when, by the brook, she tries to overcome her father’s death.
