Memoir of a woman who lived with another woman who passed as a man. They lived in Northern California--Berkeley, San Francisco, Santa Cruz in the late 40's, 50's and 60's. Also includes her life in Massachusetts as a girl and in Germany between the wars with her German Jewish husband and her Jewish woman lover.
