The Tales of Colossus

World challenge had offered eleven young adults an opportunity to experience cultures from afar and fend for ourselves. There was no doubt that it would be hard and the expedition leader, Tom Tuckwood, made sure to hammer home that this was not a holiday. The day before departure, congregated in the senior study room at school, the goals for the trip we laid down: to have an experience; help the community; push ourselves both physically and mentally; extend our comfort zone beyond familiar bedding and warm showers; and to come to the end of it all out of money, exhausted and hungry. This is the story of that adventure.
