About James Armata

James Armata was born and raised in Long Island, New York where he currently resides with his wife Karen of more than 20 years, and his daughters Casey and Amy. James graduated St. Anthony’s H.S. in Smithtown in 1981, earned a B.S. at Brockport, his M.A. at Columbia at Teachers College in Physical Education and has been teaching and coaching at the Dalton School in Manhattan for over two decades. James has completed more than 15 marathons, dabbled in the “ultra” running world completing the Knickerboocker 60K in Central Park and finished 6 Ironman races in Lake Placid which is the theme for his first book entitled “Ironman: Journey to Lake Placid.” James closed the chapter on Lake Placid, completing the race every other year since it’s inception and now joyfully shares with you Ironman U.S. Championship Bring it on Home.
