There's no such thing as a Conservative Christian

Remember 2008, when Rick Santorum said "there’s no such thing as a liberal Christian?" This book is a bit of "turnabout is fair play," of making things even out... It'll get you started reading the Bible with an open mind, per Jesus in Luke 24:45: “Then He OPENED THEIR MINDS so they could understand the Scriptures.” Credentials? The author is on his 13th trip through the Bible; he's read it "daily" for 26 years now. On the way he's learned things he could never have imagined. (Like how - at the Battle of Rephidim - Moses was the first guy to say "It's only weird if it doesn't work." Like the old Bud Light commercial...) The book notes that reading the Bible on a daily basis – with an open mind – means being “transformed.” A Bible dictionary says that means to "metamorphose; as a caterpillar transformed into a butterfly." But conservative Christians don't WANT change. They like their cocoon of literalism. Get out of your cocoon. Become your true "butterfly..."
