Traces a Kincaid family from John Kincaid (born 1683), a weaver in Bannockburn, Scotland. Grandson John moved to Spitalfields, London, about 1763; became a silk weaver. Kincaids married into families of Faulkner (1791), Lonsdale (1795), and Satchell (1837) in London. Emigrated in 1847 to NY state. Several attended Oberlin College. Married into families of Chapman (1865) and McChesney (1876). Rev. Wm. Kincaid, Jr. (1841-1897), served Congregational churches in NY, Leavenworth, KS, and Oberlin, OH. Includes transcriptions of letters and documents 1829-1913.
