Venus in the Country

"Venus in the Country" is the story of Pamela, a young maid, fostered from the age of 15 by Mr and Mrs Rumple. Pamela is informed by Mr Rumple of her new employ with Sir Richard and Lady Belinda Bromley, but having harboured a letch for the pretty girl for some time, he takes full advantage of the situation by giving an accurate education before she departs. Expected to act as governess to her new employers children, Pamela avails herself of every conceivable opportunity to exercise and educate all about her in her new position.
