Enlightened Romanticism: The Philosophical and Intellectual Foundations of 'Frankenstein'

An analysis of Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' in terms of the text's philosophical and intellectual foundations. Though 'Frankenstein' is often (quite rightly) studied as a gothic or feminist piece of literature, this book argues that an awareness of the philosophies at the core of Mary Shelley's work is a crucial first step to a full understanding of the text.
